WideStream Beta 5 released 2009-10-10
Beta 5 contains a lot fixes and new feature. This version is more stable and provides more functionality. Upgrade is recommended.

WideStream Beta 4 released 2009-06-13
Beta 4 has a lot of serious changes including bug fixes and performance improvements. CPU usage was reduced almost by 20 times, queue management algorithm was improved. Also this release introduces a number of new features such as an ability to filter out download by date, file type and status, an ability to sort downloads, URL crawler and so forth. This release includes more than 80 changes and will be likely the last Beta release of WideStream.

WideStream Beta 3 released 2009-04-19
Beta 3 release seriously improves application performance and also adds a support for localization. Localization can be performed using standalone StringTableEditor tool which is shipped via a separate WideStream SDK download. Russian and English translation are included in Beta 3 release. Also Beta 3 adds a lot of new features, Metacafe and Google Video download adapters, new UI settings and much more.

WideStream in your language 2009-04-19
WideStream starting from Beta 3 supports translation into different languages thanks to a newly developed lightweight localization engine. You can read about this feature in the latest blog.
Want to see WideStream in your language? Want to help to create a translation? It is fairly easy - just try our localization tool. You can submit your translations to administrator email (see contacts page) so we can publish them on this site and make available to others.
 
WideStream Beta 2 released 2009-01-24
Beta 2 is finally out! Beta 2 release adds a lot of functionality to WideStream such as multiple connections downloads, fully rebuilt host manager, extensibility engine, download adapters and much more. It also resolves a lot of problems and bugs discovered in Beta 1 release.
This version is more stable and provides more functionality. Upgrade is recommended.

WideStream Beta 1 released 2008-10-29
Beta 1 is the most major release of WideStream since it became open source. It includes almost one hundred of changes, new features such as resume download for FTP, chunked downloads support, cookie support, queue definition management, moqueue auto-save, tray icon mode and much more as well as a lot of UI enhancements and multiple bug fixes in download manager code and in FTP explorer. Now WideStream can download from various sources - even if they are not fully compliant with HTTP/FTP standards.

WideStream site button 2008-10-22
A new WideStream link button was created. If you have your own internet site or a blog there is another option to help WideStream project. Place this button on your site or blog with a link to WideStream page. See more details on Help Project page.
 
Site update 2008-10-22
WideStream homepage was slightly redesigned. Now in the Project On Air section you can see information about current bugs and feature requests - and a link to the project tracker. A new section with useful links was added to the homepage as well.
Also don't forget to visit a new Get Connected! page - you will find a lot of interesting staff there.
 
Online documentation 2008-10-14
A new documentation section was added to the site. The documentation of the project is going be the live documentation - which means that it will be constantly changing in order to reflect new program features, usage hints and other useful things. There is not much to see yet but hopefully we will be able to prepare full and detailed WideStream documentation prior to Murray stable release.
By the way - you can always help us to improve documentation and even contribute documentation articles. Don't forget where the Contacts page is.
 
WideStream Alpha 4 released 2008-10-03
Previously considered to be the first Beta, Alpha 4 is the third public release of WideStream. This release seriously enhances application stability - mutiple bugs were fixed in HTTP/FTP download code and in FTP Explorer. Also this release adds a lot of enhancements to user interface and to application configuration features.
