Alpha 1 was the first interim release of WideStream Download Manager project. It wasn't published as open source initially because at that time the whole project haven't been available under open source license. It was decided to release WideStream Murray Alpha 1 source code when the project went open source. The Alpha 1 release contains a limited number of feature however it is a fully functional release and supports HTTP (multithreaded downloads and downloads by ranges) and FTP downloads. This release has a very limited configurability. This release was implemented in C# 3.0 using .NET Framework 3.5 and runs on Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows Vista and any 64-bit version of Windows.
